Kids/Teen Classes
Capoeira kids classes are offered through Central do Brasil at 734 E Lake St. and operate ongoing 8-week sessions with a vacation week separating each start. All classes are taught by Instrutor Cabeção.While there are many extra-curricular activities available for kids today Capoeira has the potential to offer an incredible range of experience. Our classes teach not only the martial art and game of Capoeira but also the music, language, and culture. The setting is fun and Instrutor Cabeção uses an approach that is best described as fun within structure and learning. Some of things your child will learn:
- Basic movements of Capoeira including kicks, blocks, ginga, cartwheels, and handstands
- Play the Pandeiro (Tambourine), Atabaque (Drum), Clap and Sing
- Basic Portuguese
- Respect for other cultures and other people
- The joy of working to achieve goals
In order to provide the best experience possible classes are separated by age. Capoeira Kids classes are for ages 5-9. Capoeira Teens classes are for ages 10-15.
